Panchasakha Sikshya Setu Approves 862 School Development Projects Across Odisha
Bhubaneswar: In a significant push towards strengthening school infrastructure, the 3rd Executive Council meeting of Panchasakha Sikshya Setu has sanctioned 862 school development projects across 22 districts of Odisha, with a combined investment of Rs 12.62 crore.
The initiative, chaired by Dr N. Tirumala Naik, Commissioner-cum-Secretary of the School & Mass Education Department, reflects Odisha’s growing emphasis on community-driven education reforms.
Among the districts, Ganjam received the highest allocation of Rs 1.91 crore, underscoring the state’s commitment to equitable distribution of resources.
A notable highlight of the program is the community contribution of Rs 4.41 crore from alumni, parents, School Management Committees, and local stakeholders.
This amount was doubled through a matching grant by Panchasakha Sikshya Setu, enabling the approval of all proposals.
Smt. Ananya Das, Member Secretary of Panchasakha Sikshya Setu and State Project Director of OSEPA, emphasised that the initiative marks a milestone in collaborative funding for education.
By leveraging community participation, Odisha is setting a precedent for sustainable and inclusive school development.
This landmark decision is expected to accelerate infrastructure upgrades, foster better learning environments, and strengthen the state’s education ecosystem.
