(OT Webdesk)In a dramatic turn of events, the Odisha Subordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) has cancelled the preliminary and main examinations for RI, ARI, Amin, ICDS Supervisor, and SFS posts.
The decision follows serious allegations of irregularities and legal violations in the recruitment process.
Odisha Advocate General Pitambar Acharya informed the High Court that the entire recruitment cycle has been annulled. The main exams, originally scheduled from August 1 to September 6, have been scrapped.
Controversy erupted after all preliminary candidates were declared passed, violating the rule that only five times the number of vacancies should advance.
Justice Biraja Prasanna Satapathy directed OSSSC to restart the process, restricting participation to previously registered candidates.
No fresh applications or fees will be accepted. A revised preliminary exam notification is expected by August 15.
The 2024 recruitment drive, held between September 20 and October 8, was marred by allegations of financial exploitation and job assurance scams.
Student organisations staged protests, demanding cancellation of the flawed process.
With over five lakh candidates affected, OSSSC now faces the challenge of restoring transparency and credibility to Odisha’s recruitment framework.
