OSRTC Bus Collides Head-On with Truck in Dhenkanal; Four Seriously Injured
In a chilling road accident early Saturday morning, an OSRTC bus en route from Bhubaneswar to Rourkela collided head-on with a speeding truck near Duimuhani on National Highway 149 under Parjang police limits in Dhenkanal district.
The crash occurred around 3 AM, leaving three bus passengers and the truck driver critically injured.
Eyewitnesses reported that the truck, approaching from the opposite direction at high speed, rammed into the front of the bus, causing extensive damage to both vehicles.
Local police and emergency services, including 108 ambulances, responded swiftly.
The injured were initially admitted to Parjang Medical Centre but were later shifted to a higher facility due to the severity of their condition.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, with preliminary findings pointing to reckless driving and poor visibility. The incident has reignited concerns over highway safety and the need for stricter enforcement of speed regulations.
