Orissa High Court Orders Ratna Bhandar Jewels Counting in 3 Months | Jagannath Temple
The Orissa High Court has directed that the counting and verification of the Ratna Bhandar jewels inside the Jagannath Temple, Puri, must be completed within three months.
The court emphasised the need for transparency and accountability in handling the temple’s treasures, which hold immense religious and cultural significance.
In addition, the court instructed that the Justice Raghubir Das Commission’s report on the missing keys of the Ratna Bhandar be presented in the upcoming session of the Odisha Legislative Assembly.
This move is expected to shed light on long‑standing concerns surrounding the management of the temple’s valuables.
The directive comes amid growing public interest and debate over the Ratna Bhandar, with devotees and citizens demanding clarity on the condition and inventory of the jewels.
The court’s order is seen as a step toward restoring trust and ensuring proper governance in temple administration.
