Odisha’s Republic Day Tableau 2026: From Soil to Silicon, Tradition Meets Innovation
Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Odisha’s Republic Day tableau at Kartavya Path this year captured national attention with its striking theme “Soil to Silicon: Rooted in Tradition, Rising with Innovation.” The presentation highlighted the state’s journey from agrarian roots to cutting-edge technology, aligning with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat.
The tableau’s front section showcased women-led participation, symbolising empowerment and inclusivity as central to Odisha’s progress.
Koraput coffee and the iconic Konark Sun Temple represented sustainable livelihoods and cultural heritage, while a symbolic hand holding a semiconductor chip underscored Odisha’s growing role in advanced technology and digital infrastructure.
Adding vibrancy, folk performers presented the Chaiti Ghoda dance, while artisans displayed Pattachitra paintings, Tarakasi silver filigree, tribal art, and motifs inspired by Lord Jagannath’s chariot.
Together, these elements reflected Odisha’s unique blend of tradition and modernity.
The tableau sent a powerful message: Odisha is positioning itself as a state that honors its heritage while embracing innovation, inclusivity, and self-reliance.
