Odisha’s Golden Bow Embarks on Sacred Journey to Ayodhya

A magnificent bow symbolising Odia devotion and reverence for Lord Shri Ram has begun its journey from Odisha to Ayodhya.

Crafted with 1 kg of gold, 2.5 kg of silver, and other metals including copper, zinc, and iron, the bow weighs an impressive 286 kg and is valued at approximately Rs 1.10 crore.

The bow, originating from Rourkela, reached Puri on January 18, 2026, where it was welcomed with devotional chants, bhajans, kirtans, and dance performances.

Devotees and temple servitors carried out a ceremonial circumambulation of the Jagannath temple before sending it onward to Ayodhya.

On January 22, 2026, the bow will be offered at the feet of Lord Shri Ram and later placed in the Ram Mandir museum as a permanent symbol of Odia devotion.

The initiative has drawn participation from monks, saints, and devotees across Odisha, reflecting the collective pride and spiritual fervour of the region.
