Odisha Works Department Accelerates CM Majhi’s 15-Point Vision
The Odisha Works Department has moved swiftly to implement Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi’s 15-point directives aimed at strengthening governance and infrastructure across the state.
At a high-level review meeting chaired by Principal Secretary Sanjay Kumar Singh, officials were instructed to ensure that all government correspondence and official work be conducted in Odia, reinforcing the state’s language policy.
Singh also emphasised the need for expediting promotions and filling vacant posts to boost efficiency in the department.
Digital governance was highlighted as a priority, with directives to replace traditional file-based processes with online systems such as OSWAS, ensuring transparency and faster decision-making.
On infrastructure, the department has been tasked with completing critical projects on time, including 37 road development works in Bhubaneswar, the Koraput–Jeypore and Brahmapur–Jeypore highways, the Namo Expressway, Atal Expressway, and key pipeline projects.
Singh noted that challenges such as land acquisition, forest clearance, and utility shifting must be resolved quickly to avoid delays.
Senior engineers and secretaries attended the meeting, underscoring the government’s commitment to aligning departmental work with the Chief Minister’s vision for a more efficient, transparent, and development-focused Odisha.
