Odisha Voter List Revision 2026: SIR Mapping Drive Nears Completion

The exercise compares the 2002 SIR voter list with the 2025 electoral roll, ensuring accuracy and inclusivity.

Nearly 80% of voters have already been mapped, with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) conducting household visits to collect updated details, including EPIC numbers, constituency information, and fresh photographs.

Voters can verify their names through the Election Commission of India’s website, the ECI Net mobile app, or by contacting helpline number 1950.

Booth‑wise lists will be published after one month, inviting claims and objections. Virtual hearings will also be available for those unable to attend physically.

Authorities have assured that no Indian citizen will be excluded, with provisions for voters to submit residential proof and birth certificates if needed.

The mapping process follows a five‑tier administrative structure, from BLOs at the grassroots to the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO). Interestingly, rural areas are currently showing higher mapping rates compared to urban regions.

This revision marks the first major update since 2002 and is part of a nationwide effort being carried out across 12 states.
