Odisha Vigilance Nets 270 Employees in Major Anti-Corruption Drive

Odisha Vigilance has intensified its crackdown on corruption, arresting 270 government and contractual employees between June 12 last year and December 21 this year.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi revealed the figures in a written reply during the ongoing Assembly session, underscoring the state’s commitment to transparency and accountability.

According to the Chief Minister, vigilance authorities acted against 31 government officers on multiple occasions. A total of 187 employees were convicted in vigilance courts, leading to strict disciplinary measures.

Of these, 34 employees were dismissed from service, while the pensions of 65 employees were stopped.

Majhi emphasised that the vigilance department continues to play a crucial role in safeguarding integrity across government departments.

He reiterated that the state government remains resolute in tackling corruption and ensuring public trust in governance.

This large-scale action highlights Odisha’s determination to strengthen institutional accountability and send a strong message against misconduct in public service.
