Odisha Urban Academy, Sri Sri University Partner for Urban Governance Reform
Bhubaneswar: In a landmark move to strengthen urban governance in Odisha, the Odisha Urban Academy (OUA) has signed a strategic partnership with Sri Sri University.
The collaboration aims to build capacity among urban governance professionals through human‑centred learning, leadership development, and holistic well‑being.
The initiative was finalised during a high‑level review meeting chaired by Usha Padhee, Additional Chief Secretary, Housing & Urban Development Department.
The programme will focus on stress management, meditation, conflict resolution, and peacebuilding, while also training government officers, municipal executives, and Urban Local Body (ULB) personnel.
A cadre of counsellors will be created to provide psycho‑social and legal support, with digital technology extending services to underserved urban communities.
The partnership aligns with Viksit Odisha 2036 and Viksit Bharat 2047, envisioning inclusive, resilient, and globally liveable cities.
Padhee emphasised the importance of balancing professional competence with the mental, emotional, and psychological well‑being of public servants.
Officials have been directed to expedite the Terms of Reference and roll out training modules swiftly.
This initiative seeks to foster a “Karmayogi” work culture rooted in ethical leadership, empathy, professionalism, and citizen‑centric governance, moving beyond conventional training models.
