Odisha to Open Paddy Procurement Mandis from December 25 | Farmers to Benefit
Odisha will begin paddy procurement across the state from December 25, ensuring registered farmers have a reliable platform to sell their produce.
Cooperation Minister Pradeep Bal Samanta announced that the government has completed all necessary preparations for the procurement season.
Millers have been directed to clear existing stocks from warehouses to make space for new arrivals.
The state has also floated tenders for 32 model mandis, backed by an allocation of Rs 300 crore to strengthen infrastructure and streamline farmer services.
The minister emphasised that the government’s priority is smooth procurement and timely payments to farmers.
By opening mandis on December 25, the state aims to avoid delays and provide farmers with a transparent, efficient system for selling their paddy.
