Odisha to disburse ₹5,000 to 18 lakh women under Subhadra Yojana tomorrow

Bhubaneswar,(Orissa Today) Feb 7: The Odisha government will transfer the fourth phase of the first installment of ₹5,000 to the bank accounts of over 18 lakh women beneficiaries under the Subhadra Yojana on Saturday. Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida shared the update on Thursday, emphasizing the government’s commitment to ensuring financial support reaches every eligible woman.
A grand event is scheduled in Jajpur for the disbursement, which will bring the total number of beneficiaries under the scheme to 98 lakh. The government aims to cover as many applicants as possible, with a special focus on those who have yet to receive their payments.
“Out of 3.38 lakh applicants, 59,000 have received NPCI clearance. We will personally reach out to the remaining applicants to ensure no eligible woman is left out. Those pending will receive both the first and second installments on March 8, International Women’s Day,” Parida informed reporters.
Holding the Women and Child Development portfolio, Parida reiterated that Subhadra Yojana is not just a financial aid program but a step towards empowering women and fostering entrepreneurship.
