(OT Webdesk)In a move aimed at enhancing student welfare, the Odisha government has announced a comprehensive revamp of school uniforms and identity cards for primary students from Classes 1 to 8.
As per the directive issued to District Education Officers, students will now receive saffron-colored ID cards featuring essential details such as name, class, date of birth, roll number, and contact information.
The new student kit includes a T-shirt, track pants, cap, shoes, and two pairs of socks, all provided at a subsidised rate of Rs 500 per student.
This initiative is part of a broader effort to standardise school infrastructure and improve the overall experience for young learners.
This isn’t the first time the BJP-led government has introduced changes to school attire.
Previously, uniforms for Classes 9 and 10 were updated from hunter green to maroon pants and brown shirts, signalling a continued focus on student-centric reforms.
