Odisha Railway Infrastructure Development: ECoR GM Meets Chief Secretary to Fast-Track Projects
Bhubaneswar: In a bid to accelerate railway infrastructure development across Odisha, East Coast Railway (ECoR) General Manager Parmeshwar Funkwal held a high-level meeting with Chief Secretary Anu Garg.
The discussion centred on expediting critical projects by resolving bottlenecks such as land acquisition, forest and environmental clearances, removal of encroachments, and shifting of utilities.
The meeting also emphasised the timely construction of Road Over Bridges (ROBs) and related works, which are vital for easing traffic congestion and improving connectivity.
Funkwal highlighted the importance of swift policy decisions, operational guidelines, and statutory approvals to avoid delays and cost overruns.
Chief Secretary Garg assured full cooperation from the state government, promising close coordination with district administrations and relevant departments.
She stressed the need for quick resolution of pending issues to ensure projects are completed on schedule, thereby boosting passenger convenience, industrial growth, and overall economic development in Odisha.
This collaboration underscores the growing synergy between Indian Railways and the Odisha government, with infrastructure projects seen as crucial drivers of regional progress.
