
Odisha Police Suspends Inspector Madhusmita Behera for Alleged Misconduct
Jajpur, – September 13: In a significant move aimed at reinforcing internal discipline, the Odisha Police Headquarters has suspended Inspector Madhusmita Behera, formerly in charge of Badachana Police Station in Jajpur district.
The suspension order, issued under Rule 840 of the Odisha Police Manual Rules (PMR) 1940, cites gross misconduct and negligence of duty.
The official directive, signed by the competent authority, emphasises that the action was taken in the interest of public service.
During the suspension period, Inspector Behera will remain under the disciplinary control of the Superintendent of Police, Jajpur, and will receive subsistence and dearness allowances as per Rule 90 of the Odisha Service Code.
While the specific nature of the misconduct has not been disclosed, the move has sparked conversations around accountability and transparency within the state’s law enforcement agencies. Disciplinary proceedings are reportedly under consideration.
