Odisha Pedals Forward: Cycle on Sunday Rally Champions Fitness & Sustainability
Bhubaneswar witnessed a vibrant display of health, unity, and eco‑conscious living as the Department of Sports and Youth Services organised the Cycle on Sunday rally under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Fit India Mission and the state’s Fit Odisha campaign.
The 3.5 km rally, flagged off at Dumuduma Chowk by Sports Minister Suryabanshi Suraj, Commissioner Bhupendra Singh Poonia, and Sports Director Dr Yedula Vijay, culminated at Ambedkar Education Centre.
The initiative highlighted cycling as a cost‑effective, sustainable alternative to fuel‑driven transport while promoting fitness and community bonding.
Participants included CISF, CRPF, NSS, RSS, My Bharat volunteers, athletes, and health‑conscious citizens, reflecting broad public enthusiasm.
Shri Rudrakesh Jena, Joint Sports Director at KISS, was felicitated for his contributions to fitness and sustainability.
