Bhubaneswar,(Orissa Today) Feb 6: With the annual matriculation examination set to begin on February 21, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha, has announced strict measures to prevent question paper leaks and malpractices.
BSE President Srikant Tarai stated that 5,10,778 students will appear for the exams this year across 3,133 examination centres in 30 districts. Additionally, 314 nodal centres have been designated for secure storage and distribution of question papers.
To ensure strict surveillance, all examination centres will be equipped with CCTV cameras, and live streaming—introduced last year—will be expanded to 600 centres. Advanced security features such as QR codes, watermarks, and unique serial numbers have been incorporated into question papers to track and prevent leaks.
The question papers will be distributed between February 12 and 19 under a digital locking system with GPS tracking and triple-layered security. Any tampering attempts will trigger instant alerts to the BSE control room.
The exams will be held daily from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM in a single sitting with a unified question paper for both regular and ex-regular students. Special squads will be deployed to ensure smooth conduct of the exams.
