Odisha Marks PM Modi’s 75th Birthday with Tree Plantation Drive, Health Campaigns, and Housing Fairs
Bhubaneswar, September 17 — In a sweeping tribute to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, the Odisha government has launched a series of impactful initiatives aimed at environmental sustainability, women’s health, and housing development.
The centrepiece of the celebration is the ambitious “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign, which aims to plant 75 lakh trees across the state in a single day.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi called on citizens to embrace the movement, emphasising the role of trees in ensuring a prosperous future.
Simultaneously, the “Healthy Women, Empowered Families” campaign kicks off today, targeting over 2 crore women for health screenings across 29,000 camps.
The initiative will run until October 2 and focus on diseases such as breast, cervical, and oral cancer, along with menstrual and nutritional issues.
Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling confirmed that the data collected will be used for long-term care and monitoring.
The day also marks the anniversary of the Subhadra Yojana, celebrated through “Dhanyavaad Modi” events at 338 Child Development Project Offices.
Additionally, the state will observe Awas Diwas with housing fairs in every district and urban local body until October 31.
These fairs promote the completion of homes under PMAY-U and raise awareness about schemes like PM Suryaghar and Ayushman Bharat.
With participation from ministers, district collectors, and grassroots workers, Odisha’s tribute to PM Modi reflects a deep alignment with national priorities in health, housing, and environmental stewardship.
