Odisha Launches ₹32‑Crore Rural Governance Auditorium
Bhubaneswar: Odisha has taken a significant step toward strengthening rural governance with the foundation stone laid for a Rs 32-crore modern auditorium at the State Institute of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (SIRD&PR) campus.
The facility, designed to seat 450 people, will serve as a hub for training, workshops, and seminars aimed at empowering Gram Panchayats and enhancing grassroots governance.
Rural Development Minister Rabi Narayan Naik emphasised that villages are the lifeline of Odisha, and the auditorium will act as a medium for revolutionary change in rural administration.
Equipped with advanced audio‑visual systems, the auditorium will host programs on localisation of SDGs, Panchayat Progress Index, digital reforms, women leadership, social inclusion, and water and sanitation.
It will also facilitate cultural events, exhibitions, and inter‑departmental review meetings.
Senior officials, including Commissioner‑cum‑Secretary Girish S.N., multiple directors, and Chief Engineer Priyabrata Samantaray, attended the ceremony.
The project is being hailed as a milestone in administrative excellence and leadership development, aligning with the vision of both the Prime Minister and Chief Minister to transform rural Odisha.
