Odisha HPC Clears Key Rural Development Projects for FY 2026–27

Bhubaneswar: The High Power Committee (HPC) on the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) for FY 2026–27 convened at Lok Seva Bhavan under the chairmanship of Development Commissioner Deoranjan Kumar Singh.

Senior officials from Finance, Works, Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, MSME, Rural Development, Fisheries & Animal Resources, along with NABARD’s Chief General Manager, participated in the meeting.

The committee emphasised Odisha’s strong track record in timely project execution and fund absorption, urging NABARD to sanction more projects this year.

Departments were directed to accelerate ongoing works and submit reimbursement claims promptly to ensure smooth fund disbursement.

The HPC approved spill‑over and new projects covering irrigation, flood protection, rural road and bridge connectivity, and godown infrastructure.

Additionally, projects under the Fisheries and Aquaculture Infrastructure Development Fund (FIDF) were cleared, while progress under the Micro Irrigation Fund (MIF) was reviewed.

These decisions aim to strengthen rural connectivity, water security, and agricultural storage, aligning with Odisha’s broader rural development objectives.
