Odisha Honours 52 Personnel with Republic Day Police Medals for Bravery and Service
Bhubaneswar, Jan 26: On the occasion of Republic Day, Odisha honoured 52 personnel from the police, fire services, and jail departments with prestigious state-level medals recognising bravery, dedication, and exemplary service.
Among the awardees, 20 officers received the Governor’s Medal for Meritorious Service, including Southern Range IG Niti Shekhar, Central Range IG Satyajit Naik, and Puri SP Prateek Singh.
In addition, 9 personnel were conferred the President’s Medal for Gallantry for acts of exceptional courage.
The honours also included 2 officers receiving the Police Medal for Distinguished Service, while 11 personnel were awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service for their efficiency and integrity.
Beyond the police force, 7 members of the Fire Services and 3 personnel from the Jail Department were recognised for their vital contributions to public safety and prison administration.
These awards underscore Odisha’s commitment to acknowledging the courage, professionalism, and dedication of its uniformed services, who play a crucial role in safeguarding citizens and upholding law and order.
