Odisha Health Dept on High Alert: No Scrub Typhus Cases Yet

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Health Minister Dr Mukesh Mahaling has reassured the public that no confirmed cases of scrub typhus have been detected in the state.

ELISA test results of suspected patients have returned negative, easing concerns of an outbreak.

The Health and Family Welfare Department has issued strict guidelines for prevention, surveillance, and management of the disease.

All healthcare institutions have been instructed to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) rigorously.

District authorities have also been directed to remain vigilant and ensure early detection of any suspected cases.

Dr Mahaling emphasised that the government is closely monitoring the situation and urged citizens not to panic.

Enhanced surveillance measures are in place to safeguard public health across Odisha.
