Odisha Govt Orders Urgent Repair of Bridges Before Monsoon
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has directed all district administrations to urgently repair and maintain bridges and culverts ahead of the monsoon season.
In a directive issued on July 6, officials were asked to identify unsafe and distressed structures through field inspections and technical assessments.
District engineers and local authorities have been instructed to prioritise repairs to prevent accidents and ensure uninterrupted connectivity during heavy rainfall.
Reports on the condition of bridges and culverts must be submitted within 15 days.
The Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department emphasised that timely action is critical to safeguard rural infrastructure and maintain essential routes for villagers, emergency services, and supply chains during the monsoon.
