Odisha Govt Issues Helpline Numbers Amid Middle East Tensions
The Odisha government has stepped in to safeguard its citizens following rising tensions between Iran and the United States in the Middle East.
Sports and Youth Services Minister Suryabanshi Suraj announced helpline numbers via his official X post, urging Odia migrants in the region to reach out in case of emergencies.
The Ministry of External Affairs has activated helpline 80046342, along with a WhatsApp line 971543090571. Additionally, the Odisha Mo Paribar Nodal Officer can be contacted at 9583321964.
A high‑level meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Anu Garg has formed a working group comprising Odisha Paribar, the State Home Department, the Labour Directorate, and Resident Indian organisations.
The group will coordinate efforts to ensure the safety and welfare of Odia citizens abroad.
The government has advised all Odia migrants in the Middle East to remain alert and use the helplines for assistance during adverse situations.
