Odisha Govt Extends Interest-Free EV Loan Scheme for Employees Till March 2026

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Government has extended the interest-free Electric Vehicle (EV) Advance facility for state employees until March 31, 2026, giving a fresh push to its green mobility mission.

The scheme, which was earlier scheduled to end on December 31, 2025, will now remain in force for another three months.

The Finance Department issued a memorandum confirming the extension, following the Commerce & Transport Department’s decision to prolong the Odisha Electric Vehicle Policy, 2021.

As per the revised timeline, employees must submit applications by February 28, 2026, while sanctions and fund releases will be completed by March 10, 2026.

All existing terms and conditions outlined in earlier guidelines (April 2022, March 2023, July 2023, October 2024) will continue to apply.

The scheme allows government employees to avail interest-free loans repayable in instalments, encouraging them to adopt eco-friendly transport options.

Officials said the move is expected to accelerate EV adoption among employees while supporting Odisha’s broader sustainability goals of reducing carbon emissions and building a low-carbon economy.

The Odisha EV Policy also provides incentives for manufacturers, buyers, and infrastructure developers, making the state a frontrunner in promoting clean mobility.
