Odisha Constitutes Chief Minister’s Economic Advisory Council for Vision 2036 & 2047

The Odisha government has constituted the Chief Minister’s Economic Advisory Council (CM‑EAC) to accelerate the state’s ambitious economic visions — Samruddha Odisha (USD 500 billion by 2036) and Vikshit Odisha (USD 1.5 trillion by 2047).

The Finance Department issued the notification on September 25, 2026, outlining the council’s role as a high‑level think tank to guide macroeconomic strategy, technology adoption, and inclusive growth.

The panel brings together eminent experts from civil services, academia, agriculture, and technology, including Dr Jugal Kishore Mohapatra (former Chief Secretary), Santosh Kumar Mohapatra (ex‑Paradip Port Authority Chairman), Dr Shobhana Kumar Pattanayak (agriculture expert), Arbind Modi (tax policy specialist), Dr Deepak Mishra (ICRIER), Prof. Srijit Mishra (University of Hyderabad), and Pratyush Kumar (CEO, Sarvam AI).

The council will advise on industrialisation, investment promotion, employment generation, MSME growth, and climate‑resilient strategies.

It will meet at least twice a year, with the Finance Department serving as its secretariat.

Members will serve honorary two‑year terms.

Officials believe the CM‑EAC will provide crucial guidance to transform Odisha into a competitive, technology‑driven economy aligned with national and global shifts.
