Odisha CM Majhi Inaugurates MCL Stall, Lauds Company’s CSR Push at Samruddha Odisha Expo

Bhubaneswar, November 25, 2025 – Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today inaugurated the two-day “Samruddha Odisha” program at Janata Maidan here, where he toured the exhibition stalls and formally unveiled the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) display booth.

During the event, Majhi engaged in discussions with Mr. Ajit Kumar Behura, MCL’s Director of Finance, focusing on the company’s coal production alongside its robust social welfare efforts.

Mr. Behura highlighted how MCL is channelling its resources into community development through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. “MCL is actively undertaking numerous social and community welfare programs via CSR,” he said, emphasising the company’s commitment to public good.

A key highlight was the Rs 1,120 crore investment in a state-of-the-art 500-bed speciality hospital in Talcher, which provides essential healthcare services to underprivileged residents.

Complementing this, a 100-seat medical college is operational at the site, further bolstering medical education and access in the region.

In Jharsuguda, MCL has established the Cardiac Care Hospital to extend quality healthcare to the general public.

To empower the youth and promote sports infrastructure, the company has constructed stadiums in Jaipur and Jharsuguda, fostering athletic development and community engagement.

“MCL has always been dedicated to working tirelessly for the welfare of the people,” Mr. Behura affirmed, underscoring the company’s ongoing role in sustainable growth.
