Odisha CM Majhi Champions Zero-Tolerance Vigilance Drive

Bhubaneswar, Oct 28 — Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi kicked off Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 at Lok Seva Bhavan with a resolute message: corruption will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

The event began with an integrity pledge administered to government officials, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to ethical governance.

CM Majhi revealed that since taking office, the government has dismissed 30 employees and revoked pensions of 68 retired officials for corruption-related offences.

“No one is above the law,” Majhi declared, emphasising that accountability applies across all ranks.

He praised the Odisha Vigilance Department for its proactive stance and highlighted the JAM trinity—Jan Dhan, Aadhaar, and Mobile—as key tools in promoting transparency and reducing human interference.

To strengthen preventive vigilance, Majhi urged departments to adopt modern technology and build a clean, efficient governance framework.

The ceremony also honoured top-performing divisions and officers. Cuttack Division and Subarnapur Unit received accolades, while investigators Manoranjan Paikaray and Pranita Ray, along with Public Prosecutor Surendra Panda, were recognised for exemplary service.

Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja reaffirmed the zero-tolerance policy, and Vigilance Director Yashwant Kumar Jethwa pledged continued statewide awareness efforts with full departmental support.

The state’s renewed anti-corruption drive aims to build a transparent administration that earns public trust and delivers justice efficiently.
