Odisha CM Launches MLA LAD Web Portal to Boost Transparency and Efficiency

Bhubaneswar, Aug 13 (OT Webdesk)— Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today inaugurated the MLA LAD (Local Area Development) web portal and unveiled simplified guidelines for both the MLA-LAD and CM-SA schemes.

The launch, held at Lok Seva Bhavan ahead of the cabinet meeting, marks a significant step toward digitising and streamlining development initiatives across constituencies.

The new portal empowers legislators to recommend projects, monitor progress, and ensure timely execution. Citizens can also access real-time updates on constituency-level development work.

The revised guidelines emphasise transparency, simplicity, and speed—mandating that projects move from recommendation to work order within 30 days.

The MLA LAD scheme, which began in 1997–98, has evolved into a robust tool for grassroots development. For FY 2025–26, the allocation per constituency has been raised to Rs 5 crore, reflecting the government’s commitment to localised infrastructure and welfare.

Chief Secretary and Development Commissioner oversaw the guideline overhaul, incorporating feedback from legislators and benchmarking best practices from neighbouring states.

The portal is expected to enhance accountability and public engagement in Odisha’s development process.
