Odisha CM & former CM express condolences over Uttarkashi cloudburst tragedy
Bhubaneswar, Aug 5 (UNI) Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families affected by the tragic cloudburst in Dharali, Uttarkashi,
which has caused extensive destruction and loss of lives.
Taking to his official handle on social media platform X, Majhi stated, “Deeply saddened by the tragic incident in Dharali, Uttarkashi.”
He offered his heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and prayed to Mahaprabhu Jagannath for the safety and speedy recovery of those affected by the disaster.
Former Chief Minister and BJD President Naveen Patnaik also shared his sorrow on X, saying, “I am deeply anguished by the devastating cloudburst in Uttarkashi, which has unleashed havoc in Dharali village, claiming precious lives and leaving many others missing.”
Patnaik extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and expressed solidarity with all those enduring this unimaginable tragedy.
He added, “We pray to Lord Jagannath to grant strength and protection to everyone affected by this calamity.”
The former CM also lauded the tireless efforts of rescue teams working under challenging conditions to save lives.
