Odisha CM Fires Bhubaneswar Tahsildar Over Corruption
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has dismissed former Bhubaneswar Additional Tahsildar Chittaranjan Pilla from government service following allegations of corruption.
Investigations revealed irregularities in land‑related decisions during Pilla’s tenure in Bhubaneswar, with senior officials confirming multiple violations.
Pilla, who later served as Deputy Collector in Jagatsinghpur, was found guilty of breaching administrative norms.
The Chief Minister emphasised his government’s zero‑tolerance policy against corruption, stating that no official involved in malpractice will escape accountability.
Majhi reiterated that corruption erodes public trust and hinders development, and assured that his administration will continue to act firmly to ensure transparency and integrity in governance.
