Odisha Chief Secretary Pushes for Faster Infrastructure Projects

Bhubaneswar: The 6th Task Force meeting on infrastructure development projects was held at Lok Seva Bhawan under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Anu Garg.

The meeting reviewed progress on key road, highway, industrial, and irrigation projects across the state.

Officials discussed major works, including the Kuakhia-Mangalpur section, Titlagarh and Rairangpur bypasses, Daringbadi Ghat road, and Mohana-Raipanka-Tandikona highway.

National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) projects such as Bamra-Godibandh road, Cuttack-Kandarpur road, and Capital Region Ring Road sections were also reviewed.

Industrial projects like Jharsuguda and Barpali-Sardega Phase-2 rail connectivity, along with irrigation initiatives including Kanupur, Turi-Guntat Diversion Weir, Upper Udanti Barrage, Gobindpalli Integrated River Bund, and Piplapanka Dam, were discussed in detail.

The Chief Secretary emphasised resolving land acquisition, compensation, and afforestation issues swiftly.

She directed officials to accelerate execution and ensure infrastructure development remains a priority in the state’s annual budget.

Senior officials, including State Development Commissioner Deo Ranjan Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretaries Hemant Sharma and Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Principal Secretaries of Works, Water Resources, and Commerce & Transport Departments, along with District Collectors and representatives from IDCO, Forest Department, and NHAI, participated in the meeting.
