Odia YouTuber Mr. Gulua Confesses Affair, Clash With Wife Barsha Escalates
Bhubaneswar: Popular Odia comedian and YouTuber Ashish Kumar Das, better known as Mr Gulua, has admitted to an extramarital affair amid a heated public dispute with his wife, Barsha.
The controversy erupted after a quarrel in a local market, quickly spiralling into a scandal involving allegations of infidelity, domestic violence, extortion, and threats.
Barsha, who frequently appeared in Gulua’s comedy skits, accused him of subjecting her to physical and mental abuse for over a year.
She alleged that he evicted her from their home and maintained relationships with multiple women across Odisha, claiming to possess photos and videos as proof.
In response, Gulua countered that Barsha initiated violence and demanded Rs 1 crore, later reduced to Rs 50 lakh.
He further alleged that she sent threats through hired goons and pressured him into marriage, denying him intimacy afterwards.
Gulua has filed a police complaint at Balianta station, citing extortion and life threats, and has reportedly gone into hiding for safety.
The scandal has dominated Odisha’s entertainment circles and social media, exposing the challenges digital influencers face when private disputes spill into the public domain.
Police have yet to comment, but both sides vow to present evidence in court, signalling that the matter is headed for legal proceedings.
