Naveen Patnaik Holds Consultative Meeting with BJD MLAs, Urges Grassroots Outreach
Bhubaneswar: BJD president and Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik convened the third phase of consultative meetings with ten party MLAs at Naveen Niwas, focusing on strengthening the party’s grassroots presence and exposing what he termed the state government’s “anti-people” policies.
During the interaction, Patnaik emphasised the importance of village-level outreach, urging legislators to intensify their engagement with the public and highlight issues such as farmers’ distress and paddy procurement challenges.
He reminded MLAs of their responsibility to remain committed to public service and welfare, even while in opposition.
The meeting was attended by MLAs Barsha Singh Bariha, Manohar Randhari, Dhruba Charan Sahoo, Ramesh Chandra Behera, Ganeshwar Behera, Prashant Kumar Behera, Nalinikanta Pradhan, Dibyashankar Mishra, Pradeep Kumar Disari, and Abhimanyu Sethi.
This series of consultative sessions is part of BJD’s broader strategy to reorganise and energise its cadre after moving into the opposition role following the 2024 assembly elections.
