Barbil, Keonjhar – In a dramatic turn of events, police in Barbil have successfully apprehended two individuals allegedly involved in a daring midnight burglary at Ward No. 07, Upper Basti. The incident, which occurred between the night of May 12 and the early hours of May 13, sent shockwaves through the local community.
According to the complaint filed by Sayyed Abdul Quadir on May 13 at 1:45 PM, unknown culprits targeted his residence while he and his family were away. A significant haul of valuables—including gold and silver jewellery, multiple rings, and cash amounting to ₹60,000—was reported stolen.
Acting swiftly, Barbil police launched an investigation, leading to the arrest of *Kunal Prasad (25)* of S Lal Hutting, Ward No. 04, and *Dipul Naik alias Kanha (24)* of Sri Ram Nagar, Ward No. 04. Authorities also seized crucial evidence linked to the crime, including a black-colored bag, two hammers, a hacksaw, and ₹10,000 in cash.
The arrests mark a crucial breakthrough in the case, reinforcing efforts to combat organised theft in the region. The investigation continues as police probe further to ensure justice is served.
