Mayurbhanj Schools Closed Amid Heavy Rain; Teachers Asked to Report

Mayurbhanj district administration has ordered the closure of all government, private, and aided schools today following continuous rainfall since Thursday.

The District Education Officer announced the decision as a precautionary measure to ensure student safety amid waterlogging and flood risks.

While classes remain suspended, teachers and non‑teaching staff have been directed to report to their respective institutions as per the regular schedule.

Parents have been advised to keep children indoors and avoid low‑lying areas.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall in parts of Mayurbhanj, raising concerns about further disruption.
