Matric Exams in Odisha to Begin February 19 Under Tight Security
The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE) in Odisha has launched the Plus 2 examinations for 2026 with unprecedented security measures.
Beginning on February 18, the exams are being monitored through AI‑enabled CCTV surveillance at question paper hubs, ensuring transparency and fairness.
For the first time, live streaming is tracking the movement of question papers from hubs to exam centres.
A total of 4,01,623 students are appearing for the Plus 2 exams, which will continue until March 28. Authorities have deployed 102 flying squads across five levels to curb malpractice. Students are required to report by 9:30 am for verification and seating.
Meanwhile, the Matric examinations will commence on February 19, with 5,61,979 students sitting across 3,082 centres.
Live streaming has been set up at 1,364 centres, and AI surveillance is also in place at question paper hubs. Students must complete verification by 9:30 am and be seated by 9:45 am.
Education Minister Nityananda Gond assured that comprehensive arrangements have been made for the smooth conduct of the exams, with strict monitoring of nodal centres and strong rooms.
Authorities have emphasised cooperation from students, parents, and guardians to uphold the integrity of the process.
This marks a significant step towards modernising exam security in Odisha, combining technology and oversight to ensure a fair evaluation system.
