Massive Ganja Haul in Kalahandi: Police Nab One in Forest Raid

Kalahandi, Odisha — In a decisive crackdown on narcotics trafficking, police in Kalahandi district seized approximately 1 quintal and 60 kilograms of ganja during a targeted raid near the Nagjhari route under M. Rampur police limits.

Acting on a tip-off, law enforcement officials intercepted the consignment in a forested corridor known for smuggling activity.

The operation, led by the district Superintendent of Police, resulted in the recovery of 14 sacks of ganja and the arrest of Adesh Nayak, a resident of Mardinga village under Urladani Panchayat.

Authorities confirmed that Nayak was presented before the district court and a case has been registered against him.

This seizure marks a significant milestone in the region’s fight against drug trafficking, especially in tribal and Maoist-affected zones. Police have intensified surveillance in vulnerable forest corridors to curb the illegal trade.
