Massive Fire Ravages Bhadrak Village, Livestock and Homes Lost

A devastating fire tore through Chhatrapada village under Narendrapur panchayat in Tihidi block, Bhadrak district, late Sunday night, leaving behind widespread destruction and grief.

The blaze engulfed nine houses, killing 10 cows and 10 goats, and destroying 200 bags of paddy along with household furniture.

In total, seven families lost their homes and belongings, plunging the community into shock.

Villagers immediately alerted the fire brigade, but flames had already gutted the houses before help arrived.

Local administrative officials and people’s representatives rushed to the site to assess the damage and console the affected families.

Authorities suspect an electrical short circuit triggered the fire, though the exact cause remains under investigation.

Meanwhile, villagers have demanded urgent relief measures, including food supplies and temporary shelter for the displaced families.

This tragic incident highlights the vulnerability of rural communities to sudden disasters and underscores the urgent need for improved fire safety infrastructure in Odisha’s villages.
