Malkangiri: Man Lures Minors With Ice Cream, Commits Assault — Case Registered
Malkangiri district witnessed a disturbing incident on Tuesday when a 47‑year‑old man allegedly lured three minor girls with ice cream and took them to his residence in MV‑72 village under Kalimela block.
According to the families of the victims, the accused, identified as Naren Ray, committed sexual assault inside his house.
The families lodged a written complaint at the MV‑79 police station on November 25. Police immediately registered a case and confirmed that the matter is being treated with utmost seriousness.
MV‑79 police station in‑charge Chandrakant Tandi stated that search operations are underway to trace the accused, who is currently absconding.
The incident has sparked outrage in the village, with locals demanding strict action and justice for the victims.
