Major Blow to Maoists: Kandhamal–Kalahandi Camp Dismantled

In a major breakthrough against left-wing extremism, security forces busted a Maoist camp in the dense Gangrel forest along the Kandhamal–Kalahandi border.

Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint team of the Special Operations Group (SOG), District Voluntary Force (DVF), and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a large-scale combing operation in the area.

During the raid, the forces recovered a significant cache of arms and materials, including 13 rifles, walkie-talkies, solar panels, electric wires, medicines, and other supplies used by Maoist cadres.

Officials described the operation as one of the biggest successes in recent anti-Maoist drives in Odisha.

The bust is expected to deal a heavy blow to Maoist networks operating in the region. Security forces have intensified combing operations to flush out remaining cadres and dismantle their infrastructure.

Authorities emphasised that the government remains committed to eliminating Maoist influence and restoring peace in affected districts.
