Maa Tarini Temple Development Project: Odisha CM Majhi Lays Rs 312-Crore Foundation at Ghatagaon

Ghatagaon, Keonjhar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi laid the foundation stone for the much-anticipated integrated development project of Maa Tarini Pitha at Ghatagaon.

The project, with an investment exceeding Rs 312 crore, aims to transform the revered shrine and its surroundings into a major spiritual and cultural hub.

Spread across nearly 60 acres, the initiative includes construction of a 216-bed Yatri Nivas, a dining hall capable of serving 500 devotees at once, modern interpretation centres, improved roads, drainage systems, and beautified ponds (pushkarinis).

Additional facilities such as parking zones, food courts, watch towers, and advanced waste management systems are also planned.

The Chief Minister arrived with a grand roadshow, accompanied by ministers, MPs, and party leaders, before addressing a public gathering at the mini stadium.

The entire Ghatagaon market and temple precincts were decorated to mark the occasion.

Local residents hailed the visit as historic, expressing hope that the project will boost tourism, enhance pilgrim amenities, and contribute to the economic growth of Keonjhar district.

With Majhi representing the region, expectations are high that Ghatagaon will emerge as one of Odisha’s most prominent spiritual destinations.
