Maa Majhighariani Temple Donation Box Opening in Rayagada: Offerings Counted After Six Months
Rayagada, Odisha: The sacred Maa Majhighariani Temple witnessed the ceremonial opening of its donation boxes (ହୁଣ୍ଡି) today, marking the first such exercise in six months.
Under tight police security and the supervision of the Devasthan Department, Tahasildar, Revenue Inspector, and the Temple Management Committee, nine donation boxes were unlocked at 10 AM.
More than 250 volunteers from local organisations joined hands to count the offerings, reflecting the temple’s deep cultural and spiritual significance across Odisha and neighbouring states.
During the last opening in July 2025, the temple received Rs 1.04 crore in cash, 38 grams of gold, 2.5 kg of silver, and 12 foreign currencies.
With devotees regularly visiting from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh, the temple continues to be a beacon of faith and generosity.
Temple Management Committee Chairman Raising Bidika and other members were present, ensuring transparency and devotion in the process.
The event once again highlighted the temple’s role as a spiritual hub and a centre of community trust.
