Loot Motive Behind Transgender Anjali’s Murder: Puri Police Reveal Details
Puri police have confirmed that the murder of transgender Anjali, also known as Sona, was driven by a loot motive.
The prime accused, Krishna Kandi, a habitual offender with multiple robbery and snatching cases, was arrested after a dramatic encounter.
On February 1, Anjali was attacked near Sijua. When police attempted to arrest Krishna at his residence in Gadarupas, he tried to flee and opened fire.
In retaliation, police shot him in the leg. He was first admitted to Pipili hospital and later shifted to SCB Medical College in Cuttack.
Krishna’s associate, Sanil Kandi, has also been arrested, while police continue to search for other accomplices. Officials confirmed that Krishna and his gang targeted Anjali specifically for robbery.
The Puri SP highlighted Krishna’s criminal history and assured that the investigation is ongoing.
