Koraput: Relief After Missing Ashram School Girls Found Safe

Three Class III students of Padeiguda Ashram School in Borigumma block, Koraput, sparked panic on Friday evening after they went missing for several hours.

The girls—identified as Mamata Badnayak, Bhavani Badnayak, and Sebati Jani, all hailing from Jeypore block—had been dropped off at school by their parents around 3:30 pm but failed to return home later in the day.

Alarmed families lodged a missing persons complaint, prompting police to launch a swift search operation.

After nearly five hours, the children were located unharmed in a nearby hut, bringing immense relief to parents and the community.

Authorities are now investigating the circumstances that led the girls to leave the school premises.

The incident has raised concerns about monitoring and safety measures in residential schools, with parents urging stricter vigilance.

Police officials assured that steps will be taken to prevent such incidents in the future, while grateful families expressed appreciation for the prompt action that ensured the children’s safe recovery.
