Kalahandi Gets Rs 891.39 Cr Boost with 3,612 Development Projects | Odisha CM Majhi
Kalahandi district witnessed a major developmental push as Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated 3,612 projects worth Rs 891.39 crore during his visit.
The announcement was made in Bhawanipatna, where the CM also participated in the 28th Kalahandi Utsav Ghumura 2026 at Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium.
Before attending the cultural festivities, Majhi offered prayers to Maa Manikeswari, the revered deity of Kalahandi.
The event saw the presence of local MLAs Sudhir Pattjoshi (Dharmagarh), Captain Dibya Shankar Mishra (Junagarh), and Manoroma Mahanti (Narla), who joined the celebrations.
Local representatives raised concerns about the mandi system, urging the Chief Minister to address farmers’ challenges in the district.
The visit thus combined cultural engagement, religious observance, and a strong developmental agenda, marking a significant outreach to the people of Kalahandi.
