Jharsuguda Police Seize Illegal Arms, Three Arrested in Operation Netra
Jharsuguda: In a major breakthrough under Operation Netra, Brajrajnagar police seized three country-made guns and seven live bullets during raids in Jharsuguda district.
Acting on intelligence inputs, police teams raided two locations on Tuesday. At Lamtibahal, officers recovered one firearm from Tushar Pattnayak (24).
In a separate raid at Orient Paper Mill Colony, two more guns were seized from Saurabh Yadav (21) and Aditya Sharma (19).
Superintendent of Police Gundala Reddy Raghavendra confirmed the arrests and recovery at a press briefing, stressing that investigations are underway to trace the source of the weapons and determine their possible use in criminal activities.
He cautioned local youth against indulging in unlawful practices, warning that strict action will be taken against anyone found in possession of illegal arms.
Senior officers, including SDPO Chintamani Pradhan and IIC Dhabaleswar Sahu, were present during the briefing.
Police have intensified surveillance in the region, vowing to continue their crackdown on illegal arms to ensure public safety.
