From Ayodhya-Akshardham Fusion To Malaysia’s Adiyogi: Jharpada, Laxmi Sagar Steal The Show This Puja

The Jharpada Durga Puja Samiti has transformed its five-acre Melana Ground venue into a spectacular spiritual destination featuring the “Jagat Janani Temple,” a unique fusion of architectural elements inspired by the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya and Akshardham Temple.

The fully air-conditioned structure has been designed to replicate a real temple, providing visitors with a grand and immersive experience.

Organisers revealed that the project has already incurred an expenditure of around ₹1.7 crore, with costs expected to rise further.

More than 30 artisans from West Bengal, along with local craftsmen, worked for over a month to bring the ambitious concept to life.

Apart from the visual grandeur, the committee has planned daily cultural programmes, devotional performances and musical events for visitors.

Nearly 500 volunteers have been deployed, while free prasad is being distributed to thousands of devotees every day.

Meanwhile, the Laxmi Sagar Durga Puja Committee has drawn inspiration from Malaysia’s renowned Adiyogi Temple.

Committee members reportedly visited the site to study its design before recreating the concept in Bhubaneswar.

Bengal artisans were engaged months in advance to ensure authenticity and intricate detailing.

A key attraction at Laxmi Sagar is the silver-crafted ornaments and weapons adorning Maa Durga’s idol, reflecting exceptional artistry and devotion.

The committee has also implemented extensive visitor management measures, including dedicated parking zones, CCTV surveillance and a large volunteer force to maintain security and crowd control.

With innovative themes, impressive craftsmanship and robust public arrangements, both Jharpada and Laxmi Sagar have emerged as must-visit destinations during this year’s Durga Puja celebrations, attracting devotees and visitors from across the city.
