Jay Dholakia to File Nomination for Nuapada Bypoll as BJP Candidate | CM Majhi to Lead Rally

Nuapada, Odisha — In a significant political development, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced Jay Dholakia, son of late BJD MLA Rajendra Dholakia, as its official candidate for the upcoming Nuapada Assembly by-election.

The nomination will be filed on October 16, with Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and senior BJP leaders leading a massive rally to mark the occasion.

The rally is expected to witness a major political shift, as over 2,000 workers from Congress and BJD are set to join BJP that day. Dholakia, who joined the party on October 11, aims to reclaim the seat once held by his father, whose passing on September 8 triggered the bypoll.

BJP has set an ambitious target of winning by a margin of over 50,000 votes in the November 11 election. The party is banking on Dholakia’s local connect and family legacy to galvanise grassroots support.

CM Majhi’s presence is expected to energise the campaign and boost momentum in the region.

While Congress has fielded tribal leader Ghasiram Majhi, the BJD is yet to announce its candidate. With campaign logistics and security preparations underway, all eyes are on Nuapada as the political landscape begins to shift.
