Jajpur: All schools within Jajpur Municipality and its peripheral areas will remain closed on February 3, 2026, in view of President Droupadi Murmu’s scheduled visit to the district.

The President is set to offer prayers at Maa Biraja Temple and perform Pindadaan rituals during her visit.

The District Education Officer (DEO) issued the closure order following directives from the Collector and District Magistrate.

The order applies to both government and private schools, ensuring smooth arrangements and avoiding inconvenience during the high-profile visit.

Headmasters, principals, and block education officers have been instructed to strictly comply with the directive.

Official memos have also been circulated to relevant education authorities and government departments to enforce the closure.

The administration emphasised that the decision was taken to facilitate security and logistical arrangements during the President’s visit, which holds significant cultural and spiritual importance for the region.
